Quote for 12/17/2021

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;  10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;    Colossians 1:9-10

Paul got excited, hearing how the Colossians took the Gospel message and ran with it!  He knew how easy it was for people to get excited but then slow down or even get sidetracked with false teachings.  His prayers needed!

But Paul makes the point that being saved through faith in Christ is the start of the journey!  It’s one thing to believe and another to discipline yourself and start acting like it.  The good works of a God-pleasing life serve as proof of our faith.  They also feed our faith and keep it healthy!

“What would Jesus do?” is an often-used phrase, but it’s one we should always keep in mind.  And the only way to answer to that question is to study your Bible!
