Quote for 10/25/2021

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.    Psalm 63:1

David wrote this psalm while in the wilderness, fleeing from his own son who had executed a coup of the throne.

It’s always best to call on an expert when repairs are needed.  We see David doing that in Psalm 63. Unfortunately, David didn’t always make the best choices, didn’t always seek God’s expertise first in running his kingdom or his family.

At least David knew to return to the Expert in fixing human affairs. He remembered how acute his need was. After mucking things up, he realized just how thirsty he was for Someone to take the reins and make things right. His picture here reminds us of just how desolate we can make ourselves…and just how refreshing God can be!!

  1. Great verse! I love the picture of Jesus as our spring of living water to a soul parched from desire for Him in our life. Such a moving image.

Your ideas are important too!
