Quote for 11/29/2019

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.   Romans 10:10

Let’s compare this to Mathew 7:21: Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

The Mathew passage is something that keeps a lot of Christians up at night. They wonder whether if they’ll be turned away from heaven for some mysterious reason, even though they proclaimed Jesus as their Savior. The verb is the difference. If you just say it with nothing behind it, without your heart in it, of course you’ll be denied entry! Mere words are meaningless.

Belief starts in the heart. St. Paul is telling the Roman church that faith is a matter of the heart, of absorbing belief into one’s very being. Once that has happened, the mouth will confess virtually of its own accord!

To mangle a cliché, saying is not believing!

Forbidden Fruit?

Psalm 27:14

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

“You never know.”   Brent Spiner as Bob Wheeler on Night Court

Julie and I are on our way home from The Big Apple – New York City after a couple days there. Just that fact that we went is still somewhat surprising to me!

I started out in acting, and one would think New York would have been my destination. I had friends, however, who tried their luck in the Big Apple and came back as apple sauce.  One just couldn’t handle the lifestyle, and the other just couldn’t make it there, even though she’d done very well in Chicago.

Between that and my own misgivings about 911, who did what when, etc., that there were no terrorists, no planes, and our government did it to us, and the controlled implosions of the three buildings, well, I just wasn’t sure I wanted anything to do with it.

Lest you think I’ve drunk some Konspiracy Kool-aid, I’ll tell you I saw a billboard in two spots in Manhattan advertising a documentary of some sort where requests for public records have been stonewalled, and these questions are being raised in the open. One was on one of the Times Square jumbo-trons!  However…

…I have not come to “bury” New York, but to praise it. We had a good time.

The only reason to go was the chance to meet a former colleague, and Australian who came from Down Under on a “splurge” vacation with his wife; Bob and Marilyn.

We took a tour boat around the southern part of Manhattan, got close to the Statue of Liberty for photo ops, then got off near One World Trade. Bob and Marilyn wanted to go up to the observation deck and visit the memorial.  Julie and I went along; we figured they’d come a LOT farther than we had, so…

The view was spectacular, but the vista was so grand that I had a hard time seeing it all as being real. It felt like a could have been watching a projection.

The memorial site was impactful. If you’re not familiar with the memorial site, Google it.  I don’t think I could write a description to do it justice.  There were signs reminding people to remain respectful, so it was an area of reflection.

Yesterday we were on our own and visited the USS Intrepid, a WWII aircraft carrier. We also saw the shuttle Enterprise in an enclosure on the aft flight deck.  As a bonus – for me anyway – underneath Enterprise was the original shuttle craft Galileo from the original Star Trek series, fully restored.  For the record, I was NOT more impressed by it than Enterprise no matter what Julie said!

The last thing we saw there was one of the last diesel subs before the nuclear fleet started being produced; the USS Growler. It was the first ship to carry guided missiles, a forerunner of the Cruise missile.  It took 15 minutes for a practiced crew to unload them from their containers on deck and set them up to fire.  Their guidance systems were about as powerful as what you’d find most kids’ toys today.

So that was our visit to NYC. I never thought I’d leave North America once upon a time, but ended up going to England twice, Scotland, Paris, Germany, Strasbourg, and Puerto Rice twice.  I never had a real desire to go to NYC.  Friends had gone and returned.  The reputation for crime held me back.  The size, the crowded conditions, etc. all had me thinking it wasn’t going to happen.  I’d never have a reason to go.  Ever!

Then two friends from Australia make vacation plans there, and there I was; New York City! It was better than I expected.  I still don’t think I would like living there, but I know I could, if it came to that.  There are some fun restaurants; Serendipity comes to mind!  As a pedestrian, the auto traffic can be entertaining, especially with the horn blowing.  I did NOT get a chance to use my favorite al Pacino line; “HEY!  I’m WALKIN’ here!!”  Probably just was well.

Saying goodbye to Bob and Marilyn, I told her how I never thought I’d find myself in NYC. I never thought I’d see Bob again.  This was likely the last chance we’d ever have to meet up like this.  But Marilyn made the point of this article.

“Don’t say that! You never know what’s to come.”

That got me to thinking how true that is! All of the travels I’ve had to Europe were never expected.  The chances I’ve had to serve God and my fellow man, like Terence, have always come at the most unexpected times (see ELABORATE PLANS; https://jeffreyhking.wordpress.com/2015/12/28/elaborate-plans/).

When I met Julie, I was so very lonely, thinking I’d never find a spouse, but then she came along. What seemed impossible or at least improbable happened wonderfully (talkin’ to you, Beauty)!

I wasn’t able to meet up with another friend, but have a raincheck for the next time I’m in New York. After Marilyn’s sage observation, I think it’s possible.  Even though it did take me 59 years to make it this time!  Maybe I’ll see her and ol’ Dodgy Bob again, even though he’s 67 and I’m going to be 60 next year.

Wait on the Lord. What should happen will.  You just need to keep your eyes open, don’t worry, and be patient.  God gives us all opportunities to give and opportunities to receive.  The more you can focus on giving, the more you’ll enjoy and appreciate the surprise receiving.  Because, guess what?

You never know!

Empty Pews

This is a great message.

Nothing is more distracting for this pastor than the sight of an empty pew. My heart and mind wander as I struggle to elaborate on the notes before me: Where are the Jones, today? I wonder if Mrs. Jones’ sciatica is giving her trouble this morning? Oh, and I see Mr. Carter is here alone today. I wonder if everything […]

Pirates of the Sacred Spiral Recap Parts 1-13

Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

 Luke 19:40

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

I didn’t quite expect to end up with a series on “DN: Pirates of the Sacred Spiral” by Leonard Horowitz that would take in excess of 13 installments, but here I am! For those who haven’t read from the beginning, I’m thinking a recap is in order.  Come to think of it, I could use a recap.

PART 1 – This is an overview of what to expect from the book and my summaries. Drawing on Nobel winners and a great many distinguished researchers, Horowitz demonstrates how the main function of the DNA molecule is that of a transmitter/receiver; an antenna.  God made the universe to vibrate.  Everything vibrates, each at its own frequency.  Many of these provide signals to our DNA on how to perform and run our bodies.  This knowledge has been hijacked and hidden to our detriment.

PART 2 – Speech is the vibration of air waves in distinct patterns. Sound vibrations have a direct effect on matter.  Certain sounds will produce distinct patterns in, say water, or in sand, or – even better – on equipment designed to graph these patterns.  In Hebrew, the written vowels correspond almost exactly to the pattern the produce on a graph analysis!  If sound can affect matter so profoundly, how does his allow us to interpret Genesis when God literally speaks His creation into existence?

Part 3 –   This is a reflection on Part 2, which looks at destructive language as having the effect of graffiti on God’s creation.  If God’s voice vibrated matter into specific structures and life, isn’t bad language – also a vibration which can affect matter – like graffiti?

PART 4 – A continuation of Part 2, dealing with mathematical models which demonstrate very definitively that English is indeed the precise opposite of the “sacred languages.” When recordings of English are played backwards, the precise opposite of what had been said can be heard!  What effect does this have on the western world?  It is also demonstrated the math truly is God’s language.

PART 5 – This begins a timeline to show who the major players are in genetic research starting in 1865. I’ve taken the book’s information and arranged it this way to provide a succinct picture of events.  It can be seen how research is kept controlled and used for illicit and even murderous purposes.

PART 6 – The timeline continues. We find that Dale Carnegie is not the philanthropist history has painted him to be.  Deceit and misuse grow.

PART 7 – The timeline continues. We learn there is a connection between the Carnegie Institute and The American Cancer Society.  This will become significant when we learn more about how cancer really grows and the negligible contribution of DNA toward its inception and spread.

PART 8 – The timeline continues. We learn how DNA research is used in the first attempts at eugenics, which is the practice of ridding society of inferior genetic stock and elevating the race.  This was happening here in the USA.  This work spread and was taken on by Hitler.  Hitler was the beneficiary of the work of these research centers.  The Rockefellers, their Standard Oil Company and their European partners “…heavily funded Hitler and his Nazi eugenicists” during WWII!  Damning evidence was found in 1954, proving that the Rockefellers and Carnegies planned to take over American Education systems in order to control the US population.

PART 9 – A drill-down into the nature and background of the Dolan DNA Learning Center and their historical and continuing efforts to mislead the public regarding their role in eugenics. Their website denounces past eugenics activities while making plenty of that information available!  “Yes, we were very bad.  Here is all the stuff we did.”  Original, direct efforts at eugenics were met with anger when people saw what was happening.  We can see currently how the same thing is happening again, but under the guise of consumerism.

PART 10 – With all of the background so far, we start looking at the claimed role of DNA in our health vs. all of the things that damage our DNA. The list goes from food and water to TV and radio waves as well as magnetic fields emitted from household appliances.  And this in light of a report this September 21 in The Weight Zone Factor – http://www.weightzonefactor.com/blog/big-sugar-lied-about-heart-disease/ . “Beginning in the 1960’s, Big Sugar paid Harvard researchers to falsify their studies.  Big Sugar lied to consumers and as a result, millions of us got heart disease and diabetes.  Even more of us  Simply.  Got.  Fat.”  Sugar play the primary role in cancer growth!

PART 11 – A primer on basic electronics and your body’s analogous structures to electrical components. Since we are essentially an electric “machine,” we must understand how electricy works and then how it works in your body.  When we see how intricately our bodies electronics work, we get a glimpse of God’s creative power.

PART 12 – How electricity is produced and behaves in the body. How the system can start running afoul, causing electricity production in cells that can favor cancer.  OUR DNA IS AFFECTED AND PLAYS A ROLE, BUT IT IS NOT THE ORIGIN OF CANCER!!!

PART 13 – Continuing from part 12, a layman’s (my) interpretation of how cancer cells grow and proliferate. Using that understanding, we can start to see how we might more effectively battle cancer.

So that’s the recap to date. I’ve started reviewing the material to produce Part 14, but it is slow going.  That plus my wife and I are heading to New York City to meet up with an old friend from Australia!  I will do my best to get it out this week!
