Quote for 10/14/2021

Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.    Proverbs 17:28

******************************

I’ve been re-watching the old TV series Boston Legal.  Denny Crane is the senior named partner of the firm Crane, Poole, and Schmidt.  A legal legend in Boston, he either has early onset dementia or, as he often tells people, mad cow disease.

Denny often says the most outrageous things like, “I hate the poor.  They can’t pay!”  Everyone cringes every time he opens his mouth, because they don’t know who will show up; the legal genius or the senile idiot.

Better yet when he simply stays quite!  He is sometimes just brought into a room to sit at the table, his mere presence intimidating the law firm’s opponent with nary a word spoken!

There’s the adage, it’s better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and prove it.

Let’s all be less like Denny Crane and more like the author of Proverbs.  Speak if you must, but then only say what God has taught us.  Anything else?  Foolishness!

    • Pastor Babu, thank you for your kind, encouraging words! I’m sorry I have not written as many articles lately. I’ve hit a “dry spell.” Plus work has been taking its toll. However, I will do my best to continue as best I can. God’s blessings to you and your teams!!

Your ideas are important too!
