Quote for 3/12/2018

the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.   2 Peter 1:4

God made a promise to Eve roughly 6000 years ago. Her Seed would make her mistake right and defeat the evil that had persuaded her. God remade that promise to Abram and Sarai 2000 years later. Those promises were personified in Jesus another 2000 years after that.

That first promise to Eve is still being fulfilled to all who believe in Jesus and call on His name. More than that, Peter tells us that we also share in Jesus’ divine nature. How else can we possibly believe such fantastic words, such incredible promises? How else can God look at us and see brothers and sisters of Jesus instead of lustful sinners?

They are promises of love beyond measure, timeless and priceless…and ours!
