  1. The good shepherd knows his sheep and calls them by name, and his sheep know his voice. The good shepherd provides more than they need, so much provision that their cup overflows. He protects the sheep from danger. Sheep cannot drink from a raging river lest they be pulled in and drown. He leads them to safety for they must drink from still waters. He restores their soul with his body and blood. He lays down his life to save his sheep. He leads them on the narrow way of righteousness for his name sake, for there is no other name under heaven by which men will be saved. The sheep trusts the good shepherd. The good shepherd is in charge of their well being. The sheep were given to the Shepherd by his Father.
