Hold Please…

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[a] with groanings which cannot be uttered.”    Romans 8:26

Earlier this week I was talking with a friend during one of my long trips. We often spend some phone time as we each cover our respective miles.  We talk about almost nothing but God and trying to live a pleasing life.

We got to the subject of prayer. We found we both have the same problem.  It’s a bit like the Pixar movie dog with the collar that allowed him to “talk” to people.  He’d be rattling on about something to his owner, and then suddenly –

“SQUIRREL!!!”

Yeah, we pray kinda like that. We’re going along, talking to God, and we get to something we want to tell Him and –

“SQUIRREL!!!”

The mind just goes off on a tangent, and we suddenly have this sinking feeling: “I just left GOD on hold!!!”

If that happens to you, my friends, just remember…

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[a] with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

  1. I thank and praise my father, God, that I can bask in His glorious light, His son, and the Holy Spirit who intercedes for me.
