And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,[a] and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.   Matthew 28:2-4

The earth shook, the stone rolled, and an angel rocked the tomb. The soldiers fainted, and I’m thinking/hoping they peed themselves.

“Got a little rust goin’ on the armor there, Sparky?”

That had to have been cooler than the other side of the pillow!

“He’s ba-ack!”

He’s frying up some fish on shore for the guys, He’s walking to Emmaus, He’s got Thomas poking his finger in Him like he’s the Peg Game at Cracker Barrel for cryin’ out loud!! He was appearing, disappearing, and slinging miracles like Spiderman spins webs (ok, an extremely loose paraphrase of John21:25; look it up).  He floats away into the clouds and a little while later He almost brings the house down on Pentecost.

“Can you spare a brother a light?’

The disciples are walking around like Bics and doing better with their foreign language requirements than I EVER did in high school!

We look out from under our rocks, wondering if it’s safe to come out only to find…it’s HIM!!! And He still likes us!!

“He likes me! He really, really likes me!!”

No thunderbolts, no finger wags, no mean looks. Just a big smile and outstretched arms in our direction.

“I did mention all of this to you, right?” He says with a grin to the disciples. And us.  “C’mere; give Us a hug.”

We should go a little nuts, my friends, because Jesus is risen!
